The Herm Sprenger stainless steel prong collar is one of the most recognizable and popular names in obedience training tools. A safe and effective alternative to choker collars, it puts even pressure around the neck, about every half inch, pinching the skin in a band. This collar does not apply direct pressure to the trachea, so you can train a dog with little or no tugging, jerking, or pulling. The addition of a center plate connector allows the middle link to be configured symmetrically, enabling the prongs to tighten in the same direction. Made of high quality German stainless steel, the size of this collar can be adjusted by adding or removing the links individually. This base model with one ring is safe and easy to apply due to the ClicLock and offers a quick and pinpoint influence onto the dog.

Being made of stainless steel, the collar is the most proficient product for all situations in the dog's life. Because of the seawater resistance and the rust proof characteristics, the item will serve for many years showing no signs of rusting. And here is why. Chromium and nickel are present throughout stainless steel, not just on the surface (compare - steel with chrome coating that can be easily damaged and result in rusting). Because of this, the microscopic layer will form itself anew, even when the steel is cut or scratched. This fact makes it the most reliable material in terms of rust resistance.
Stainless steel is not likely to stain light fur, but is not suitable for nickel-reactive dogs as it contains nickel.
All Herm Sprenger pinch collars come in a standard length which is adjusted to fit the neck of the dog by removing or adding links to the collar.
Sizing instructions: collar should fit snuggly just below the dog's ears, measure the circumference of dog's neck and add 2".
